Description
Sick Photoelectric Color Sensor KT5W-2N1116
The SICK KT5W-2N1116 is a high-performance contrast sensor (frequently referred to as an “eye-mark” or “registration mark” sensor). It is a staple in the packaging and printing industries due to its ability to detect minuscule differences in contrast between a mark and its background, even on shiny or high-gloss materials.
Teach-in Procedure:
- Mark Position: Place the registration mark under the light spot. Press the “Teach-in” button. The status LED will flash.
- Background Position: Move the material so the background (non-mark area) is under the light spot. Press the “Teach-in” button again.
- Automatic Selection: The sensor’s internal microprocessor chooses the best RGB color and sets the switching threshold automatically.
Summery:
Because this is a 2N model, the output is NPN. If your PLC requires a sourcing signal, you would need the 2P (PNP) version.
